College Trigonometry 1060

      Mass spring systems in everyday life include shock absorbers and trampolines. We need to understand the amplitude, period, and frequency of these systems so that we can properly build them and insure that they work and will perform the tasks they need to perform without any problems. Trigonometry is an key math class that allows us to understand how the world works. I already knew that trigonometry was applied in the real world by multiple people, especially engineers and and  construction workers. Mass spring systems are constantly used in appliances, buildings, and many other aspects of modern human life. This project only further supports my opinion that trigonometry is important. If we didn't understand how the mass spring system worked, then the shock absorbers we build wouldn't prevent bike riders from the pain they're supposed to be prevent, or trampolines might strecth to much and people jumping on the tramp would hit the ground and injure themselves. Many aspects of trigonometry allow us to prevent injury, build safe sturdy buildings, etc,.

College Algebra 1050 

The mortgage assignment we did for this class allowed me to apply math formulas in the real world. Now I know how these formulas can be used to calculate interest rates of different houses on the mortgage loan, how much money actually comes out of my pocket to pay for the house, and the differences between a 15 and 30 year mortgage loan. When I decide to buy my own house someday. I'll be able to use this knowledge to compare the pricing of the house in terms of the loan such as the interest rate, how long the loan lasts (15 or 30 year), and other similar aspects. College Algebra 1050 as a class improved and refined my skills at algebra, and taught me more about mathematical aspects such as polynomials, functions, and graphs.
