Communications 1010 was a very enjoyable and interesting class. In it, I was able to learn basic communication skills that are critical to being successful in almost any career. We learned how to conduct interviews and work in groups, Being able to do well in an interview is key to landing the job you want, so I'm glad I got to learn some ways I can improve my impressions and convey my talents better to an interviewer. In this class we had to complete a group project. We had to divide out the work among the group members and rely on each other to get the task done, as it was too big of a task for any one person to complete. This was helpful as working in groups is part of almost any job in today's working world. Finally, the assigment I posted to the right was my favorite. It was an improvement proposal were I had to propose a way to respond more constructively to criticism. I see this as a valuable life skill. We are all criticized sooner or later, and I think if we can use criticism positively to improve ourselves at whatever we are being criticized for, we will be more successful at completing that task effectively and be happier. These reasons are why I am glad I took communications 1010. It prepared me for my future as I can now communicate better and be more successful in my career.
